Winter is here

Old cemetery in Bennington
This is a picture of an old cemetery in Bennington. Ariane came to visit a few weeks ago with her dog Tao, and we took a nice walk through it. There was a light snow on the ground, and it was absolutely beautiful. The church in the background is called the Old First Church, and it was built in 1805. Some of the graves dated back into the 1700s, with one person being born in 1760.

Chandre showing off her letters
Chandre came up to Vermont with me for two weeks, and we had lots of fun together. She's getting really good with her letters, and was very proud to show me the whole alphabet. We had to work hard on a couple of the letters, but we got through it!

Chandre and Ariane
Ariane came down and visited us for a weekend. We took Chandre to see the movie "Night at the Museum," which was really good. I think Chandre may have been a bit too young to really enjoy it, but it kept her entertained. We also introduced some new food to Chandre - we made her eat salmon! While she didn't enjoy it and made some pretty strange noises while eating it, she did it. And she was rewarded with a little ice cream as a treat.

Princess Chandre
Chandre got this rocking horse for Christmas, and wanted me to take a picture of her next to it with her princess dress-up clothes on. She's really into role-playing right now, and absolutely loves princesses.

Me and Chandre sledding
After a week in Vermont, Chandre and I took a trip up to Montreal. We had a great time one afternoon going sledding on Mt. Royal. Chandre had never been sledding before, but as soon as we got to the top of the hill she was ready to go down by herself. We put her on a "crazy carpet" and pushed her down the hill. She made it about halfway before falling over.

Ariane and Chandre sledding
After her initial run, Chandre wanted to sled with me, Ariane, Daph and Jeeps. It was a lot of fun going down with more than one person because the balance was better, and there was more speed. Sometime this winter, we're going to a place where you slide down the hill in an inner tube. I guess there's grooves you tube in, and it's supposed to be a lot of fun. I'm really excited about it!
